Now I remember it! I used to buy all sorts of strange stuff there. They had some cheap and odd electronics stuff too, like an alarm you could put on your bedroom door to keep younger siblings out. I also remember getting those "Bag o' Gold" gum things. The little cloth bag with "gold nuggets" of chewing gum in it.

Dollars and Cents was on Magnolia/College Ave., near the College of Marin

OK, I have to ask about this because the name Dollars and Cents rings so clear in my head, but I just can't remember what it was, or where it was. Was it the store at Montecito shopping center?

Dollars 'n Cents was AWESOME!! One of my best friends and I- both about eight years old at the time- would make a stroll down to that shop our Saturday morning ritual. There, we'd stock up on all of these absurd candy concotions (Nerds, Henry the Grape, that sizzling rock candy stuff that you were told to never combine with Coke lest you wanted your stomach to explode, etc...). I know my mom appreciated having us out of the house for that hour or so, but I doubt she appreciated the sugar highs with which we returned .
