The shop is located in a building that once was part of the Highland Railroad stop and is located between two roads that were once railroad tracks.
In 2004 the owner of the building decided that she had hung onto it long enough and it was put up for sale. The store was in danger of ceasing to exist when film producer George Lucas bought the property partly so that we could continue to exist. We are very thankful to him.
I don't have hard facts to prove this, but, I believe that building, and it's companion buildings are what remains of a NWP train station. Called "Highland", it served the inter-urban electrified passenger trains until 1941.
Does anyone know anything about the building at 111 redhill blvd, amazing grace music has been there since 1970. It appears to have been automotive related. Its the one on the end of the row in the center of redhill blvd by united market in san anselmo. What was it originally?
