As far as I can remember the yearly event is the last week in April or May. It is held at the wells of the Muir Beach C.S.D. in Franks Valley. It is a big daytime party that the proceeds benefit the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. They have great music provided by the local band Flying Circus and Sausilito band Eugene and the Blue Jeans as well as many others and some big time people used to show up and play, like Hugh Cregg. They always have BBQ chicken with all the trimmings ( it's a good idea to eat first ) before enjoying all the good micro-brews they sell. They have a full selection of MBVFD T-shirts and sweat shirts with the drawing of the dog pissing to put out the fire. I have never seen it advertised , maybe because enough people know about it they don't need thousands of people from " over the hill " piling in. At first it used to be I knew just about everyone there , then later in the early 80's it was a big re-union of people from all over. But now there about 5 people that I know from Muir Beach, a few from other areas but a whole new younger fun loving crowd now. It's one of the last of the fun events that used to go on in Marin that is still here as far as I know , and it is great to help support the MBVFD.
