Hi Paul,

"Thanks for the memories!" I am still hunting for a photo...let me know if you hear of/see one.

I think I used to have French Dip Sandwiches there....

No photo, I'm afraid, but plenty of memories passing that place many, many times as a kid on our trips up to our Russian River summer place and also my grandparents in Calpella. I always looked forward to seeing the pond and also the mannequin (OK, dummy) fisherman dangling his line in the water. We never once went there to eat, though, at least when I was around.

HI!

Was wondering if anyone remembers a restaurant that I think was at what now is the Smith Ranch Road exit on 101. I used to call it the "Duck Pond Restaurant" because when I was little, in the 60's, we would take the scenic drive all the way from San Francisco to Marin for special occasions and go to this restaurant. I would love t...o get out of the fog and into the beautiful rolling hills of Marin. I found out recently it was called Le Chateau.

My memory is of a one-story sort of ranch style building, semi-circular, that ringed a pond that was probably artificial, where there were ducks that I could feed with the french bread from my table. There were large windows that looked out onto the pond. My parents would let me leave the table as soon as dinner was over and I would run out and throw chunks of bread to the ducks.
