I wonder what that small storefront is between the store and the theatre.



Later on Didn't Macy's and Penney's line up next door to each other without anything in between ?



I know when Macy's took Penney's over, You walked from on to the other directly on the inside, except that there was a weird (that's ok) step up or down between the buildings inside.

A parade passes by Albert's art moderne department store, on Fourth Street at Court, c.1951. Look at all that glass brick! Down the street, the El Camino Theatre in Spanish-Moorish style. Checking Google's Street View, I note that this block has been transformed into yet another characterless anywhereland. Photo by my sister Rosemary.
