It's the only federal building that FLW ever designed! I remember being told that as a child. I grew up about a mile and a half from here, so it was a familiar destination for me. I was fascinated by the big globe and how it was bisected by the front window.

Civic Center post office. December 1962, actually, but I didn't want to clutter up the forum with another thread.

Man, lighting is everything, ain't it? That's my brother Will and his shadow, by the way.

Did FLW design this, or someone else a la Wright?

That is the only pic of the Civic Center that gives me the feeling the architecture is a work of art.

I think the Hall of Justice wing ruined it. I'm too lazy to research, but I'll bet FLW didn't want an "add-on" to his building.

Gorgeous Paul, and again more cool cars. The VW Pick-Up with canopy is classic.
