Cat who are you? Mrs. Palmer was my Kindergarten teacherin 1969. were you in the am or pm class? and yes I used tolove that playhouse, do you remember when the 6th graders used to come "babysit" our class on rainy day lunchtimes. and I too, remember the monkey bars with the pole in the middle. How about the mapof the USA painted on the overlook area by the big stairs between the 3rd & 4th Hallway & the 5th & 6th grade Hallways? or sliding on the greenpainted wooden ledges around the playgrounds every time it would frost overnight, kind of like ice surfingon a balance beam!

Mrs Palmer! She was my kindergarten teacher in 1969. I'd love to see a picture from that time, to see if my memory matches with what she really looked like.

I remember we used to get snacks every morning, provided by the school. I remember little milk cartons, that came with PAPER straws. The straws always fell apart halfway through the carton. Mrs. Palmer taught us our abc's, our numbers, how to write our first name and how to answer the telephone, otherwise I just remember playing. Her classroom had everything. multiple paint easles, giant cardboard blocks, a playhouse and dress-up clothes. She had a white rabbit in a cage near the door.
One time, she stepped out of the classroom for a minute, leaving us by ourselves, and some of us tried to pick up the rabbit. I got scratched, but didn't say anything because I didn't want to get in trouble. The big threat if you got in trouble was that you would have to walk down the hall to Mr. Slusher's office.

I also remember the old monkey bars that had a firepole down the middle. One was shaped like a rocket, I think. I slid down the pole and got a major pole burn. Never slid down a fire pole again.

Never heard the Ms. Murray story until now, I remember one day when she came to our classroom & as she made her way to the front of the room had trouble fitting between the desks, "tight squeeze" she said, as many kids snickered.

Well, it's definitely LCM 1958 - it's in my 6th grade LCM autograph book. And anyway, I remember all those people (well, most of them). The photo was taken in LCM's all-purpose room - the wall behind them is actually a divider that rolled back and made one big room.

I may have gotten some names mixed up. Is the Mrs. Jordan you mention the same person as the one I identified as "Beverly Johnson" in my photo, back row 4th from left?

my question is...This sounds more like staff for Henry C. Hall, than LCM> I realize LCM used to be K-8th, both of my parents went to school there and then me nd my brothers...Question? where is Mr. Kerr, Mrs. Palmer, Mrs. Jordan, Mrs. Mosconi, Mrs. Smith, Mr. Grimes and Mrs. Mcguire? and lets not forget Mrs. Robinson the librarian, and Ms. Murray the chorus teacher that got stuck in her car at a performance at San Clememnte school (approx 1970-71ish)

Thanks Paul, I was pretty sure it was her, thanks for the confirmation, some of the apple polisher types in my grade figured out that she loved the color red, so they would wear red on the day she came to our classroom because it was pretty much of a given that if you wore red she'd point at you & make a remark about your 'rojo' attire.

That's her, my fourth grade teacher (I was in 6th when this pic was taken). She's the one who taught me "¿Como está usted?"

As best as I can dredge up, and with a disclaimer as to spelling, they are:

Seated, left to right: Kendall C. Poole (7th Grade), unidentified, Marjorie Whitelsey (music), Lucille Cordeiro (4th Grade), unidentified, Gilbert Slusher (Principal), unidentified, Miss Ingalls (kindergarten), unidentified, unidentified, Mervin Gootherts (8th? Grade).

Standing: Mrs. Pedersen (or Redway?), Jackie Mitchell (6th Grade), unidentified (or Mrs. Redway), Beverly Johnson (1st Grade), Douglas Lindauer (7th? Grade), unidentified, unidentified, unidentified, Leslie Ezekiel (5th Grade), unidentified.



Signatures in my autograph book I can't quite match up with faces anymore are: Beverley Townsley, Patricia Morris, Alyce(?) Farkas, Ollie C. Redway, Jane Larkins, Helen Stewart and a couple others whose scrawl I can't make out.
