The motel is still there. I think it was back in 98 or 99 that the sign was replaced with the current one. There was great controversy over keeping the flashing sign on the roof and the City I believe landmarked it so it could not be removed.

Wasn't that where Pepperland was ? I remember being at a concert at Pepperland
when the Gypsy Jokers started firing shots inside , the concert was ended then.

Everyone knows litchfields.. haha

Anyone have any pics of when it used to be lit up??

As far as I know.. This history of that place was that it USED to be one of Marins finest hotels..
Whitey Litchfield was the owner.. He actually only died a few years ago I think...

Anyhow, I guess teh freeway came in and the hotel went down.. It was always rumor
that you could rent rooms by the hour there, when I was in high school...

Now I think its a Carpet sales place.. haha

Just wondering if there is any more fun history of this marin landmark..
