The Fog (1980)

Filmed in Bolinas, Inverness, Olema and Point Reyes.

This video is compilation of shooting locations with a now and then split screen, showing how the sites look in recent times.

Shoot The Moon (!982)

I don't know my West Marin too well. But this clip has some Point Reyes in it, and the Pine Cone Diner, I believe.

Streets of San Francisco (Season 1, Ep. 3, 1972)

Epic shots of Gate Five in Sausalito and the houseboats.

Driving across the Golden Gate Bridge and then arriving at Gate Five area. Interior shots of a houseboat with a ferry in the background:

Climactic scenes, another arrival at Gate Five, and pursuiing cops driving through the old GG bridge toll plaza. A cool foot chase through the Sausalito houseboats and an old ferry. Very neat.

Impact (1949)

This movie has scenes in downtown Larkspur and Sausalito. The full movie is on youtube. The links below start up the movie at individual Marin shooting locations.

1.

Downtown Sausalito. Shows the center of downtown. Clock on the Wells Fargo bank. Ferry slip. Rexall. Couple of hotels. Great old cars. Bit of rear projection of the car driving north out of downtown all the way to Pine St.

2. Larkspur. Shows Blue Rock Inn looking south. Then a service station. There's some websites that explain where these shoots were in Larkspu.

3. Larkspur Fire House. Shows fire truck headed north through town.

Blood Alley (1955)

You can see what I presume is China Camp--heavily made up as a village in China?--beginning about :50 seconds into this clip.

Thx wmsward for bringing this one up.

This clip has a fair number of interesting china camp views starting at about 0:30 in.

Blood Alley with John Wayne was filmed out at China Camp, mid fifties. A mock section of the great wall was built on the ridge above San Pedro Rd.

Here's three clips of Tiburon and Sausalito movies that can be found online. They're cool.

Dark Passage (1947):

The opening sequence of this movie includes: San Quentin, Paradise Drive (east shore of Tiburon), and the approach to the Golden Gate Bridge. You can find the DVD of this movie at local libraries but most of the Marin part of the movie is shown in this clip of the opening sequence (there's about a minute of movie before this, shot at San Quentin).

This clip is all Paradise Drive in Tiburon. The sequence begins near Ranch Road and goes to 3910 Paradise Drive, which is just past the entrance to the Seafirth subdivision. Along the way there is a long sequence where the rear projection shows the area around Seafirth, passing by some old gates to Seafirth.

TCM has another clip from the opening showing the approach to the GG Bridge. This part of the movie comes about a minute after the previous clip. The missing minute has a neat shot of Lauren Bacall driving around the corner at 3910 Paradise Drive, but the rest is only close-ups of Bogart meeting up with her.

Dear Brigitte (1965)

The full movie is on youtube, for now...it has some great shots of the Sausalito waterfront. I confess to not having watch this whole movie, but the first ten minutes has some great scenes of the waterfront by Issaquah dock.

Moran of the Lady Letty (1922)

I haven't seen this movie. Apparently they built a large set at today's Paradise Park--or in that cove. There are a few neat shots of Tiburon's Paradise Cove in the background of this clip, and neat shot of a big old sailing ship anchored offshore.
