That's right: the Army did arrange for plants at that lake. I guess the DFG would do it for them.

Back in the 1970's people used to fish for trout in the little lagoon on the east side of the bridge that crosses the large lagoon on the way to Cronkhite beach, I wondered if the small lagoon was seperated from the larger one by some sort of floodgate, as I assumed the big lagoon was brackish water that trout wouldn't like. One day heading out to do some exploring in my Willys we ran into Billy Bitz, a coworker who was fishing there and having a few beers, he said he fished there often & caught trout there, I imagine somebody planted that little lake back then, maybe the Army ?
